I walked across the road to the Spar today to buy the Sunday Mail from the usual employee (I think she is an owner), a young asian lady with a very quiet voice, with no annoyances. I was like ok, get paper, read TV guide and then play some Halo. But then I read through a bit of it and saw that those bloody strikers have struck again. This time it’s electricity.
Seriously, have a fucking cry!!! That’s the first time i’ve sworn in this blog and it’s because I’m so pissed off!! I am so sick of hearing about all these people wanting totally unreasonable pay increases just because they think they deserve it. I don’t disagree with the point that striking is sometime neccessary, but lately there has been a total surge of strikes everywhere, and it’s just not needed. There was also that one with the airline employees, soething to do with the planes or engines; not needed. These electricity guys are threatening us with power supply, who does that?! That could be considered terrorism! Strikes that I do agree with, and theres only one that I’ve heard of, is that truckers strike, but I haven’t heard anything of that, so maybe they didn’t do it and it was all sorted out. But that was a worthy cause, these electricity people are just bitching about not being paid as much as people in the private sector. I didn’t even know there was a private sector in electricity but apparently there is and they’re getting about and extra $2 or something. What about the doctors? They have a
private sector, maybe they should strike? They are asking for an extra $1.50, that is equivilant to about a 10% pay increase. The government offered them a 4.5% pay increase; TAKE IT! Or say no we want a 5 or a 6% pay increase. Compromise or something! They say some people will be without power for 48 hours, I think that’s

a load of crap and is just a scare tactic but if there are power cuts they will be for hours, maybe not 48 hours
but hours nonetheless, and if I miss something because of these guys then there will be way more swearing in my next post on these guys. The only good that would come out of this strike is that the environment would be given a break. And what’s worse is that householders are the one that will have to pay for it all!
